AVERY STADT
$1.00
Avery Stadt is 11 years old and a 5th grader at Hope Middle School. When school started in the fall, remotely due to COVID, Avery decided to begin making fidget boards. Fidget boards are a way for students with sensory issues, or hands that need to be kept busy, concentrating during their classes. Avery’s best friend loves using fidgets, and she inspired Avery to make the boards for her friend, her fellow students and herself. Avery showed the STEM teacher her boards, and he shared them with the dean of students and the principal. They were impressed by the idea, and Avery has made more than 50 in the last month for the classrooms and students at her school. Avery hopes that her small creations will help students in a big way.
Avery will donate her Y-PIF proceeds to the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
